Today on msn’s homepage there’s a link that reads: “Sample Gwen, Blondie & More.”  I just love it that Gwen Stefani is so popular, she only needs one name now.  Oh, wait.  No.  I don’t.  Because she makes me cringe.  Or want a syringe.  Etc.  I’m not saying she’s talentless, ok?  Obviously she’s got SOMEthing, because let’s face it, she’s pretty successful.  I’m just saying that someone who tries so hard to be different, to be sexy, to be something, who is only one step above, say, Lindsay Lohan in the realm of recording artistry, should never, under any circumstances, be granted permission to re-make a song from Fiddler on the Roof.  Or any other musical, unless maybe it’s Seussical the Musical.  Or maybe Cats, that might be OK.

“Gwen” songs that were allowable:

1. “Don’t Speak”

2. “Spiderweb” (or whatever)

3. “Just a Girl” (or whatever)

Gwen songs that are NOT allowable:

1. “If I Were a Rich Girl” (Oh WAIT, I AM a rich girl–nananananananna)

2. “[something about bananas]” (B-A-N-A-N-A-S) (oh my god.)

3.  Many others.

In conclusion: Gwen, you never should have become “Gwen.”  Because No Doubt was much, much better than you.  Buh-bye.

  1. The weird thing is that I don’t ever really see much of Gwen in the press. Maybe I’m just not really looking, but I don’t feel that she has been tremendously overexposed. Plus, I think she’s hot.

So, I’m sorry, but once again I must disagree on the Gwen sitch.

  2. Stop disagreeing with me on the Gwen sitch! I will not allow it! I mean it, Saru!

  3. I can’t help it. And even as repugnant as I originally found that B-A-N-A-N-A-S song, it totally grew on me. (Plus the cheerleading uniform in the video? Hot.)

I guess I must just be her target demographic. Which is why I can’t understand why she never calls me.

  4. Testing.

Alright sweet, gravatars are now working too. If you want one, simply click the box and then fill in the proper locations and presto you’ll get a neat little avatar next to your comments.

Plus I added the subscribe to comments via email option because I know some people like that. Now time to do it on my blog.

  5. I agree with you, I live some songs of No Doubt, but Gwen alone, ummmm not really.

  6. This is the funniest diary entry ever.

And we gonna get some crump up in this bitch tonight y’all.

  7. I totally agree. I USED to like No Doubt. THen “Gwen” got a superiority complex and left the only good thing she had going for her. Face it, all she does is sing, without No Doubt backing her, she has no idea what she’s doing. I label her a major SELL OUT. Have you heard some of the crap she has been recording with these rap stars? All about money.
