so yeah…uh…i’m in a musical?  and i rehearse ALL THE TIME…?  and i go straight to rehearsal every day after work and then straight to bed when i get home at midnight?  and the musical opens tonight, praise god, so next week won’t be so bad?  oh wait, that was a statement, not a question.  it really won’t be so bad next week.

i am currently sitting at my desk, doing everything in my power to stay awake.  on top of my heavy rehearsal schedule this week, our quarterly sales meeting at work was yesterday and today, and that can be kind of overwhelming and/or plain irritating.  this one really wasn’t as bad as the last one.  i didn’t get sucked into doing all kinds of odds and ends for the salesmen; or at least not like last time.

tonight i’m ushering the show, so i have to be ready for mic check at 6:50, which means i have to leave here at 5 on the DOT, not a minute later.  or else i will be dinner-less and like, uh, not ready on time?  in my beautimous make-up and costumes?  yep.

so there’s this guy.  in the play?  and he’s extremely attractive.  and all the girls/women/whatever you wanna call us are always talking about him.  and wednesday night i had a dream about him.  lol.  i felt so embarrassed when i woke up, because it’s not like i have any ACTUAL interest in this guy.  he is SO not for me.  but he’s just so damn cute!  and he makes the funniest faces!  but anyway, that was kind of funny.  i told a couple of the other girls last night, and of course they got a HUGE kick out of it.  and, as you know, that’s what i live for: amusing people.

i must say, this is the first time i’ve done a show while working a full-time job, and it is NOT so easy.  but what can you do?  who needs sleep?

so.  i start classes august 28th.  did i mention that before?  it’s been so long i can’t remember.  heh.  so far i’m registered for 2 classes, but i’m hoping to get into one more once i’m approved for the Certification program.  (i’m still waiting for one more transcript to arrive.  then i should be all set; i don’t even have to take the THEA exam–whatever that is–because my GRE scores are high enough or something–in which case, the word “high” may not be the best term, because they certainly are not that.)

C and i are planning a trip to somewhere involving a beach in late august.  we still haven’t decided where, which, for us, is not at all shocking.  we are sad when it comes to decision-making skills.  what a pair we are.

i would REALLY like to go to mexico because i just plain love it, but i’m kind of leaning toward renting a condo-type beachfront place at destin or something a little more quiet and laid back.  dunno yet.  cozumel might be fun… hee.  boy, do i love the water.

this guy who presented at our sales meeting this morning was telling me how wonderful charleston, south carolina is.  beaches, cobblestone streets, great food due to the culinary institute, etc.  i almost bought my plane ticket, he was such a good salesman!

i better do some work or something.  just wanted to give a little update and say hello.

hope all is well in your respective lives!

much love, x’s and o’s, etc…

  1. I have to get back to work too, but… BREAK A LEG!!!!!!:)

  2. I’d love to take a vacation in South Carolina- I’ve heard lovely lovely things about it.

Don’t work yourself into a hole. Does the cutest boy play Curly, or Will? Cause not Judd goes without saying.

  3. We stopped in Raleigh when I was on tour. It is very pretty, I can’t tell you about Charlston, but there and Athens, GA were two of the places we really wished we could have had time to explore. I’m not making sense.

  4. I actually just got back from Cancun, where were you planning to go in Mexico?

    What musical are you in?

    – Ploppy.

  5. Hey ya! Long-time-no-chat! My new friend (the one I’m not talking about for fear of jinxing it) is up from Cali and I have been completely out of touch. I hope tonight went well! When you have to usher, do you still appear in the show? How does that work? I’m sorry you have to work full time while you have to perform as well - if only acting paid the rent, huh?
Charleston is a picturesque town that deserves to be added to the list of “Places To Go.” I think South Carolina doesn’t get nearly the attention it should as a vacation destination. Here are a couple of links for your consideration: http://www.usatourist.com/engl.....index.html

Have you considered the Carribean at all? I had a marvelous time at Nassau The Bahamas. The water is so clear, you can’t even see it. I was walking along the beach and stepped into some water.. I had to reach down with my hand to touch it because I could not SEE it! Sometimes you can look out at the water and it looks as if the boats are floating on air. The snorkling is supberb and the food is just wonderful! Anyway, something to think about.
Hopefully, I’ll be back to writing soon… I am missing it!

  6. ok..so I can’t spell. The snorkling is SUPERB, not supberb…sheesh, what next?

  7. I want to go to Mexico — never been there. My father lived there for five years and still hasn’t taken me…. grrrr. We might be going to our condo in FLA (as we call it yet) for Thanksgiving. Mostly because my parental units thought it would be fun to dine on lobster and scallops in the tropical sun rather than turkey and cranberries in the dull gloom of WINTER.

Ack, I just said winter. ew. Bad Muppet.

    L O V E!
