i think i’ve got him.

i heard on the radio the other day that jessica simpson is now dating john mayer. gross. john mayer? equals guh-ross. i mean really? candy lips and bubblegum tongue? that’s not romantic, it’s gay.

in other (more important, since it’s about ME, obviously) news, i started classes this week. i wanted to write an entry on monday, because i thought it would be a lot more poignant if i could write, “i had my first class in graduate school tonight.” but alas, this week will have to do. i’m taking 12 hours and working 20 hours/week. i can tell already that i’m going to want to call and quit my job just about every other day. i’m a lazy bum, what can i say? i’m also sickly. i catch things easily, and the busier i am, the more often i get sick. =(

i am really liking my classes, though. so far. though i’ve only had them each once so far. a lot can happen once the newness wears off. but it is a proven fact (proven by consulting me) that these 4 classes are way more interesting than most of the classes i took in undergrad. i guess because they’re about the human condition and stuff. that interests me. maybe i should have majored in psychology or counseling or something. i like this crap.

here is my schedule:

Monday: Elementary Education–Classroom Management & Curriculum Development. Monday, in groups, we wrote a kids book in 20 minutes. it was quite enjoyable. have i ever mentioned i am obsessed with and collect childrens’ books?

Tuesday: Psychology–Cognitive Development or something or other. Not too sure yet, but i like the teacher’s personality a lot. only the book is over $100 bucks, so that’s a bummer.

Wednesday: Reading–Something about teaching kids to read. Like Strategies and Vocabulary stuff or something. Seems interesting. The teacher is a little less enthusiastic than the others, but she seems really nice if that counts.

Thursday: Early Childhood Environments–love this teacher. She has a great personality and has tons of experience. i also liked the people in this class the best.

so yeah, that’s the short version of classes, Week 1.

on another note, i think i’ve got him. C. this week, i stayed at my parents’ house twice. meaning i didn’t see him for 36 hours each time. last night, when we both got home after 10:00 and didn’t have time to do anything but hug and go to bed (because we’re old and tired like that), he was so enamored with me. he told me how much he had missed me, how weird it was to not have me around as much, how much he loves me. niiiiice. he must’ve said he loved me 18 times. the feeling is mutual, obviously. hee. so yeah, i think it’s going to be good for us to be apart a couple of days a week.
