there are some things that are going to have to happen pretty soon. i’m going to have to interview and try to find a teaching job for the fall. (i’ve been to 2 job fairs already and will attend another in 2 weeks.) i’m going to have to find a job of some sort for the summer months, as i’ve made zero money since december and won’t make any money with my teaching job until probably mid to late-september. i’m going to have to fly up to new york city the first weekend of may for my deposition (remember that awful car accident i was in just a few days before i graduated from college back in june 2004?) and face the city for the first time since K and i moved back to texas nearly 2 years ago. i’m going to have to start rehearsals for the secret garden the day i get back from new york–a show i am hardly interested in doing as i am completely exhausted and burned out and generally fed up with that theater company. (i’m only doing garden so that i can be part of songs for a new world come september). i’m going to have to get my new classroom ready for the school year, which apparently is a more daunting, tiring, time-consuming, and expensive task than any of us has ever imagined. clint is going to have to find a new job. we keep talking about weddings, engagement, etc., but we both know it won’t happen until he’s in a better place, mentally and emotionally. so that’s that for the future, so far, as i know it. the rest of the future, of course, is a guessing game. that’s the beauty of life, i guess.
yesterday at clint’s sister’s house, we watched back to the future (part II & III). i loved it at the very end when Doc tells Marty and Jennifer that the reason the message on the letter disappeared is that their future isn’t written yet. heh. i also love how Doc pretty much yells every line he has in those movies. heh.
clint and i have been watching Planet Earth the past couple of Sunday nights. it’s an awesome show; absolutely amazing cinematography of the natural wonders and wildlife on the planet. supposedly they’ve been filming for these documentaries for the past 14 years or something crazy like that. it’s definitely worth the hour of your time if you’ve got it. i think it comes on the discovery channel or something. check it out.
i absolutely love our new apartment. we’ve been here for a little over a month now, and i’ve been sick 3 times already since we moved in. it’s insane, really. i had the flu DURING the move (nightmare), then i had bronchitis, and last weekend i had some virus, for which i am still taking antibiotics to get rid of it. shoot me. i don’t know if it’s the children in my class who are getting me sick or if it’s the stress of teaching, taking graduate courses at night, and going to play rehearsals, all the while preparing resume’s, creating a personal/professional website, filling out job applications, etc. on second thought, it’s probably the stress. yeah.
anyway, our apartment is super cute. i haven’t finished decorating it by any means, but we’ve got fiestaware in the kitchen, along with some lime green and white striped curtains that i got for $3.99 for each panel. i rock at finding deals. maybe i’ll take some pictures of some of my stuff. i got the most perfect shower curtain ever for combining my and clint’s taste. it’s nuts. it’s a good thing he likes the stuff i pick out, because let’s be honest: it would stay this way whether he did or not. it’s just easier this way. =)
i just wish we had some money for new furniture. it’s kind of funny. we have all the old furniture that was passed down from his grandfather, so we’ve got this huge, L shaped sofa that is not only cordouroy, but a burnt orange color. our dining room table and chairs seem to be straight out of the 70s, only not as cool as you’re imagining, unfortunately.
i must say, if i were still single, the workout room of our apartment complex would be a pretty easy place to meet guys. i was there this afternoon and was being checked out (and talked to by one) by 2 different guys in the course of just 40 minutes. and i didn’t even look good. no makeup, crappy t-shirt. of course, the one that tried to talk to me (i’m sure he was just being friendly, he wasn’t really hitting on me or anything) was one of those big beefy guys that is totally not for me. but hey, i’m sure he’s nice and totally someone else’s type. so girls: if your apartment has a workout room, get there! take a music player of some sort so you can ignore the ones you need to ignore, and you can just turn down the sound for the others!
i think that’s enough blathering talk for today. it is so gorgeous outside. much better than the pingpong ball sized hail from friday night. peace out.

Hey sweetie! Stop getting sick-o! Havin’ some issues myself what with work, school and The Boy moving out. Much more difficult than I anticipated…
You must remember to take a moment to BREATHE. Get comfy on the couch or in the tub and inhale through your nose, exhale through the mouth. Get a compress for your eyes and just let the world melt away… Now, if only I could take my own advice!
No worries about the book — you keep it as long as you wish. Perhaps I’ll have another to send (need your new addy though!). I did miss your birthday this year, after all. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! LOVE!

Hey! I’m beefy but quite toned. My girlfriend, Sara, doesn’t normally like muscle guys since she goes for the ‘heroin addict look.’ However, *ahem*, she loves it when I’m N-A-K-E-D. Girls oggle more than they let on and this is one of the reasons I like to shower with Sara. Life has a funny way of ups and downs. My parents used to live in a trailer but are now in a wealthy neighborhood. Now, go get naked!

Blue,
You are way too you.
Living inside of your head.
Blue is a cool color. Mysterious and rare.
I would like you to stop thinking one time per day when you feel like thinking.
When that happens, send me an email and tell me how it felt.
The non-thinking. Relax and concentrate.
And send me a line.
– Ploppy.
