the song lyrics survey.

By troisieme | March 3, 2008

So I answered all the questions with song lyrics, and I just had to add it to this site so I’ll have a record of it even after myspace kicks the bucket, as i feel it inevitably will.

Answer each question with lyrics from a song; any song you want.  (Per Paddles challenge, Ive answered each question first with lyrics from a showtune/broadway musical, and then with lyrics from a regular song. Took forever!)
1.  Are you male or female?
luck be a lady tonight  (guys & dolls)

the southern girls//with the way they talk//they knock me out when Im down there (beach boys)2.  Who are you? She lightens my sadness//She livens my days//She bursts with a kind of madness//My well-ordered ways// She bubbles with pleasure//She glows with surprise//Disrupts my accustomed leisure//And ruffles my ties.  (a little night music)

So I’m a little left of center//I’m a little out of tune//Some say Im paranormal//So I just bend their spoon//Who wants to be ordinary//In a crazy mixed up world//I don’t care what they’re saying//As long as I’m your girl.  (michelle branch)
3) Describe your neighborhood.
The sun is shining//It’s a lovely day//a perfect morning//for a kid to play//but you’ve got lots of bills to pay//what can you do?//You work real hard//and the pay’s real low//and ev’ry hour goes oh, so slow//and at the end of the day//there’s nowhere to go//but home to Avenue Q!  (avenue Q)

i’m rocking the suburbs//just like michael jackson did//i’m rocking the suburbs//except that he was talented//ya’ll don’t know what it’s like//being male, middle class and white//it gets me real pissed off and it makes me wanna say fuck . (ben folds)

4) How do you look?

5) What is love?
thick and thin//tears and laughter//gimme happy ever after//gimme gimme that thing called love. (thoroughly modern millie)

love bites//love bleeds/its bringin me down to my knees. (def leopard)

Belief makes things true//things like you, you and I//Belief builds from scratch//Doesn’t have to relax//It doesn’t need space//I’m gonna yell it from the roof tops//I’ll wear a sign on my chest//That’s the least I can do, its the least I can do (gavin degraw)

6) If you could say one thing to the person you love, what would it be?

Wow, look at you now//Flowers in the window//Its such a lovely day//And Im glad you feel the same//cause to stand up//Im in the crowd//You are one in a million//And I love you so//lets watch the flowers grow//There is no reason to feel bad//But there are many seasons to feel glad, sad, mad//Its just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold//But I am here to help you with the load.  (travis)

Lived in an apartment out on Avenue A//I had a tar-hut on the corner of 10th//Had myself a lover who was finer than gold//But I’ve been broken up and busted up since//And love don’t play any games with me//Anymore like she did before//The world won’t wait, so I better shake//That thing right out there through the door//Hell, I still love you, New York//Farewell to the city and the love of my life//At least we left before we had to go. (ryan

adams)

With a little bit of money we could buy us a car//With a little luck we could get away from where we are//Let’s get outta here//We’ll drive 1000 miles an hour  //We’ll fly by wheat fields and water towers//We’ll go, we’ll go, and we’ll go, and we’ll go//Let’s go. (ok go)
