weddings and summer and children, oh my!

wow, it’s been a long time. today i mailed out the wedding invitations, which i made myself (bought paper, printed them, cut them, printed and cut response cards, stuffed into envelopes, and so on). they turned out pretty cute if i say so myself (which i do). i would post a picture, but they have my name and parents and c’s and all that. but they are cute.
i am in the process of making my own clip in hair extensions. bought the hair yesterday and tonight my stylist showed me how to sew in the clips (not hard, but i am retarded and don’t know how to do things like sew). the hair is AWESOME and matches my color exactly. it’s kind of insane, really.
tonight we watched an episode of six feet under. C gave me the boxed set for Christmas, and after tonight’s episode, we only have 3 episodes left. such a good show.
we have been looking for houses but haven’t had any luck yet. the area where we live is pretty high for texas–it’s a nice area, and homes are still cheap compared to the northeast, but they’re a little high for our budget and what we’d like to have. i have become un-budgeable on a couple of things: 1800 square feet is my new minimum, and i want a BIG living area. my side of the family has about 19 people including my nieces and nephews, so if i ever want anyone to come to a holiday at our house, we’re going to have to have a lot of room. it’s hard to find a big yard in suburbia, which is saddening, but there’s not much you can do. it’s pretty exciting to be buying a house soon. i’ve been ready for several months now to get out of this apartment, though our upstairs neighbors have not been NEARLY as obnoxious lately (knock on wood). however, about a month ago, the plumber stole my diamond earrings (one of the 3 real pieces of jewelry i own)(used to own), so that was discouraging as well and certainly didn’t make me want to stay here much longer. it’s frustrating because now i have to change out my earrings daily to match what i’m wearing when before i wore the diamond ones almost every day. damn thieves. we have renter’s insurance. as of last week, haha. advice: get renter’s insurance.
we bought my wedding band this week, and it’s supposed to be ready tomorrow. ooh, i’ll post some ring pictures when i get it, that will be fun.
trying to think of what else, so much has been going on, but mostly me doing stupid, irritating wedding preparations.
oh, i know–5 weeks of school till summer!!! and 7 weeks till the wedding!!! So exciting. my kids at school are like wild comanches on the war path, i’m telling you–they are out. of. control. i had to yell at them today, which i haven’t had to do in a while, but they are just really out of hand. they think it’s the end of school, but they’ve still got 5 weeks, so they better calm it down.
i guess that’ll do for now.
