38 days till the wedding.

good lord. really? REALLY. 38 days. holy SHIT. yeah. so we are getting the house!!! we close on june 3rd, move in on june 8th, right after school gets out, which is convenient for me. well, convenient other than i’ll have to be fully packed and ready to go BEFORE school gets out and my wedding is like 2 weeks later. so not really SO convenient. ha.
the house is freaking AWESOME. i mean, we’re a little older than a lot of people who get married these days, i guess, but if i say so myself, and i do, this is a pretty nice starter home. DANG. the pool is really nice, and there are hardwood floors in the living room and ceramic tile in the kitchen and entryway. it’s really quite exciting. we had the inspection yesterday, so i’m freshly excited.
you know, i love my students. after all, they’re 9 years old, and they’re really cute kids. but DAMN if they don’t drive me fucking crazy every DAY now. it is really getting out of hand. i mean today one of my worst kids was absent and my other worst kid left after lunch sick, and the afternoon was STILL out of hand. i’ve never had both of them out the same day, and let me tell you, it should have been WAY more pleasant than it was. i know the kids know, because i’m acting totally different than usual, saying things like “you people drive me crazy,” “would it be possible for you to start making me proud of you again so i wouldn’t have to keep yelling at you?” and so on. they mostly just stare at me when i say things like that, which could be a concern if they go home and tell their parents all the unkind things i say to them. heh. oh well. i think the new phrase i am constantly saying without meaning to is “ok, bye.” meaning anytime they approach my desk to ask me stupid questions or to tell me (or even better–show me) the size of a queen termite, rather than listen to their 3 minute schpiel, i cut them off saying, “ok bye.” it’s really not very nice, but i honestly don’t even mean to say it at this point, i just can’t help myself. i am off the deep end of mean teacher-itis. but they have end-of-the-year-itis, so it’s ok, i guess.
dude. i’m so glad that so many people are willing to offer up their unsolicited advice and opinions about my wedding and everything leading up to my wedding. i mean, what WOULD i do without everyone else?
seriously? oh really, so i have to wear pearls with my wedding gown? that’s so interesting, because i’m not going to wear them, so basically you can go fuck yourself. do i LOOK like someone who is going to wear pearls to my wedding? is it just me, or did i buy my bridesmaid dresses for $20 at WalMart? is it just me, or does our wedding reception include a tex-mex fajita buffet and kegs of beer? is it just me, or do i want to shoot you in your foot for criticizing the invitations that i painstakingly HAND-MADE? is it just me, or is there really no one i can talk to about all my pent-up anger? fab. if i don’t end up saying ‘fuck it all,’ and going to the courthouse, i’ll post wedding pics at some point.

whoohoo! congrats on the house! can’t WAIT to see it. i’m assuming you’ll be having an open house sometime in, say, august. =)
and yeah…um, speaking of YOUR WEDDING, i need to find my rsvp card & say that i AM coming & that the fajitas & beer just might coax the hubby too assuming he’s not too jet-lagged from his business trip (jury’s always out on wedding attendance…i totally had to bribe him with alcohol & other unmentionables to attend his OWN wedding…HAHA!).

So much going on with you! I’m currently obsessed with Jesus Christ Superstar, even though I am NOT a Andrew Lloyd Webber fan at all really. Sadly, it’s not even approaching anything contemporary and that makes me feel even dorky than liking Rodgers & Hammerstein.
